Qualifications: Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Mechanics or Automobile Engineering City and Guilds part 2 or any related field obtained from accredited institutions and be a holder of a CI driving license with at least two (2) years experience.

Duties:

  1. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Road Transport Officer on relevant business so as to maintain a good work atmosphere;
  2.  Examining of motor vehicles for Certificate of Fitness;
  3. Examining of motor vehicles for valuation so as to determine the current values;
  4. Examining of motor vehicles involved in road accidents so as to determine the possible causes;
  5.  Carrying out spot checks so as to enhance Law Enforcement;
  6. Examining of driving test candidates for the domestic driving license;
  7. Inspecting of garage facilities where a motor dealer applies for MD plates to make sure requirements are fulfilled;
  8. Inspecting of driving school facilities where individual wishes to operate a driving school to ascertain fulfilment of requirements;
  9. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
