Brief History; The University of Livingstonia is a private owned institution by the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia. It started in 2003 in fulfilment of Rev. Dr Robert Laws’ dream to establish an institution of higher learning. It is started at the place where Dr Laws founded the Overtoun Institute, which was known at the time as the ‘Greatest Achievement’ in Central Africa, specifically in relation to the offering of quality education and other social services.

University of Livingstonia offers limited accommodation services to students. After gaining admission into the University, prospective students have an option to book with the Dean of Students office and the available rooms are allocated on first come, first serve basis.

Prospective students are to note that, Students who do not get accommodation within the University are housed at privately owned hostel facilities. However, the Dean of Students Department are very committed to assist prospective students in identifying suitable and conducive hostels, and ensuring that welfare and security of students in hostels are protected. These hostels are within close proximity to the University and have been accredited by the University.

The University does not cook for its students, however arrangements with catering service providers have been made to ensure that food is prepared for students at friendly rate. Government sponsored students are given their feeding and living allowances quarterly so that they can find and accommodation at a price of their convenience.
