Brief History; The University of Livingstonia is a private owned institution by the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia. It started in 2003 in fulfilment of Rev. Dr Robert Laws’ dream to establish an institution of higher learning. It is started at the place where Dr Laws founded the Overtoun Institute, which was known at the time as the ‘Greatest Achievement’ in Central Africa, specifically in relation to the offering of quality education and other social services.

Specifically, the Programme aims at:

producing high quality English, Geography, Social and Development studies, History and Theology and Religious Studies teachers for secondary schools and teachers training colleges.
developing critical thinking skills and knowledge in dealing with every day social and economic challenges
Applicants should have a full MSCE certificate or its equivalent with six (6) credits including English and any two of the following subjects: Geography, History, Social Development Studies, Theology Religious Studies and life skills – Duration 4 years
Applicants with Diploma in Education from recognised institution will be enrolled in the third year provided they majored in any (one) of the following subjects: English, Geography, History, Social and Development Studies or Theology and Religious Studies – Duration 4 years
