Brief History; Nkhoma University was registered by Malawi Government in November, 2011. It was operationalized in June, 2013; officially launched in August, 2015; and registered by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in 2015. The University was accredited by NCHE in November, 2016. Our vision is to be a Centre of Excellence in Creating Academic Knowledge for Sustainable Development.

Nkhoma University has five faculties, these being Education, Commerce, Theology, Accounting, and Nursing. Under these faculties, the following courses have been registered and accredited by National Council for Higher Learning (NCHE) in Malawi:

COMMERCE

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management and Entrepreneurship

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Education in Mathematical Sciences
  • Bachelor of Education in Languages and Literature Studies
  • Bachelor of Education in Social and Environmental Studies

NURSING

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery (Pending)

THEOLOGY

  • Bachelor of Theology

ACCOUNTING

  • Bachelor of Accountancy – Accounting and Finance
  • Bachelor of Accountancy – Banking and Finance
