Brief History; The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources is a university outside Lilongwe, Malawi. It was formed in 2011 by a merger between Bunda College of Agriculture of the University of Malawi and Natural Resources College.

Details About Lilongwe University ODL Application Forms

The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) will from 2020 start offering some of its programmes through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. In ODL, students will most of the time study on their own away from campus so that they can continue working, doing business or keeping their homes until they earn their desired qualification. This is a response to increased demand for higher education in Malawi which also aligns with one of the University’s strategic objectives which are to widen access to its programmes. The first semester will open on the Reopening Date.

LUANAR is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for admission into the following programmes which will be offered through Open and Distance Learning:

Tuition Fees

Tuition Fees is MK 220,000.00 per year or MK 110,000.00 per semester

How to Apply

To apply download and fill in an application form from www.bunda.luanar.ac.mw/odl and send it to the address below; you can also get an application form from Poly, CHANCO, Mzuni and the ODL Directorate at Bunda Campus, All applicants are STRICTLY required to DEPOSIT a non-refundable application fee of K5, 500.00 for Malawians and U$200.00 for international applicants to the following LUANAR FEES bank account:

Note: A copy of the deposit slip bearing the name of the applicant should be attached to the application form.

Admission of students into ODL programmes is based on the university selection criteria. Applicants will be selected through the normal university selection process.
