Brief History; Mzuzu University is one of the principal universities of Malawi. The school is located in Mzuzu, in the northern region of Malawi. It was founded in 1997 and accepted its first students in 1999.

Mzuzu University offers limited accommodation services to students. After gaining admission into the University, prospective students have an option to book with the Dean of Students office and the available rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Prospective students are to note that, Students who do not get accommodation within the University are housed at privately owned hostel facilities. However, the Dean of Students Department is very committed to assisting prospective students in identifying suitable and conducive hostels, and ensuring that the welfare and security of students in hostels are protected. These hostels are within close proximity to the University and have been accredited by the University.

 Feeding

The University does not cook for its students, however, arrangements with catering service providers have been made to ensure that food is prepared for students at a friendly rate. Government-sponsored students are given their feeding and living allowances quarterly so that they can find and accommodation at a price of their convenience.

Rentals are as follows:
(a) Single Room = K7,000.00 per month
(b) Shared Room = K5,000.00 per month
(c) Nora Hostel
i. Single Room = K18,000.000 per month
ii. Shared Room = K 12,000.00 per month
Due to limited spaces, it is not automatic that when you fill this form you will be given accommodation. This form must be returned to the office of the Dean of Students.
